In cooperation with the Radboud University of Nijmegen he did research concerning (learning)performance and (learning)motivation with children to thirteen years both in sport and education. Started developing the psychological instruments, the Child Development Indicator (8-12 years) and the Young Talent Development Indicator (13-23 years) for practical use in both education and sports. These instruments clarify in what way young athletes deal struggles before, during and after matches or a training. The instruments also give insight in the present game motivation, the game understanding, the style of game and the game orientation of an athlete. Has introduced and applied the Child Development Indicator (CDI®) and the Young Talent Development Idicator (YTDI®) within the youth training of Club Brugge with then head of youth training Hans Galjé. Has a football background and gives using the knowledge from this background to lead accreditation courses and masterclasses for trainers and coaches in professional football in Belgium and the Netherlands. Gives football clinics with colleagues from football for football. Accompanied and supports the coach for national top talents to 19 years in badminton (Eline Coenen). Is author of the book ‘Inzicht in de typeontwikkeling binnen de voetbalsport’ (‘understanding the type development within football’)
