As a graduate student at Yale University, Robert R. Klein
was trained in the Tavistock model of group dynamics. He later served as a trainer and consultant for Yale's Training and Consultation Division (Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine), providing group training in the mental health field. At Harvard University, he wrote a doctoral dissertation entitled: A Study of Participation in Groups Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. In 2007, the Center for Applications of Psychological Type (CAPT) published his new assessment tool, The Klein Group Instrument for Effective Leadership and Participation in Teams (KGI). The KGI is designed to work with the MBTI® tool for training leadership and group skills. Robert is a certified MBTI Master Practitioner. Currently, he is a senior professor at Western New England College (Springfield, MA), where he teaches in the education, psychology, and business management programs. He has taught the course Team Leadership for the Masters of Business Administration program, and Leadership and Group Skills for undergraduates. He has been an instructor for the Springfield Leadership Institute, and for the Women of Color Professional Development Program, working with culturally diverse populations. He is on the faculty of the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, teaching the seminar: Psychological Typology, Individuation, and Social Relations. At the Jung Institute, he has taught students from Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, South America, Central America, the United States, and Canada. In addition, he has also done cross cultural studies on leadership development with faculty from the University of Hawaii.
